Monkton Lane, Jarrow Proposed Crossing

Overview

South Tyneside Councils Road Safety Department are consulting on a proposed road safety scheme in your area.

As part of South Tyneside Council’s ongoing commitment to create a safer environment for all highway users, we propose to make an improvement on Monkton Lane, Jarrow.

The Road Safety Team would like to install a new parallel crossing. The crossing has been proposed to improve the safety of pedestrians crossing in the area and also act as a traffic calming feature with the raised table.

If you wish to raise an objection, express support or make any other observations about these proposals, you must make them in writing to the below address below or by emailing roadsafetyconsultations@southtyneside.gov.uk by the 12 Jan 2026. Any objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.
