Laygate/Western Approach area, South Shields - Proposed parking restrictions

Overview

South Tyneside Council have been made aware of issues with regards to vehicles mounting the footpath at various points along Western Approach, South Shields. This has raised a road safety concern as vehicles mounting the footpath pose a safety risk to pedestrians increacing the liklihood of a collission.

We propose to introduce the following parking restrictions, No Waiting (Double Yellow Lines) and No Loading (Double Kerb Markings) to prevent vehicles from loading along this section and mounting the footpath causing a safety risk.
