We recived a very good response to our proposal with most respondents being in favour of the scheme. Therfore, we will now move forward with a formal consultation. Legal notices will posted on street and adverstised in the Shields Gazette. The notice will include details on how you can have your say. We thank you for your consideration of this matter.
Overview
South Tyneside Council have been alerted by residents to access problems on Wood Terrace at its junctiom with Tweed Street, Jarrow. When vehicles are parked within 10m of a narrow junction such as this it reduces forward visibility for both motorists an pedestrians which is a road safety concern.
We propose to introduce the following parking restrictions, No Waiting at Any Time (double yellow lines) and No Loading /Unloading at Any Time to improve forward visibilty.
