Closed 2 Dec 2024

Opened 7 Nov 2024

Overview

South Tyneside Council is reaching out to residents participating in the permit parking scheme on the above-mentioned streets.

Over the past year, the team has received a significant number of concerns regarding this scheme and as indicated at the time of its implementation, the team intends to conduct a review of the scheme after its initial 12 months of operation.

There have been questions regarding the effectiveness of the scheme and its alignment with its original objectives. We intend to conduct a survey with all residents to provide you the opportunity to express your opinions on the scheme’s operation since implementation.

Why your views matter

All views will be noted, considered and commented on come the close of this review.

What happens next

It is important to understand that this request for feedback serves solely to assess opinions, and any subsequent decisions will be communicated comprehensively to all residents. Additionally, all feedback must be submitted through the designated channels, as staff members are not permitted to discuss this consultation survey via telephone. We kindly ask that you refrain from calling the team to provide comments.

After the survey’s consultation period, we will issue another letter outlining the feedback received and indicating whether any proposals for parking restrictions will be further considered.

Regrettably, due to the high volume of inquiries, we are unable to respond to individual comments; instead, all feedback will be summarized and addressed in the follow-up letter.
