Station Road, South Shields - Pay and Display Changes

Overview

South Tyneside Council’s Parking Services Team is seeking feedback on a proposal to develop a disused parcel of land at Station Road, South Shields into a Pay and Display car park. This site will be brought up to standard and managed to provide additional parking capacity in the area.

We recognise that the proposed changes may affect some residents more than others and we encourage all residents to share their views during this consultation period.

The consultation drawing PS31-LTP-2025-SR provides an overview of the proposed development.

Proposed Tariff:

• 1^st hour free.
• 2^nd hour £1.
• 3^rd hour £2.
• 4^th hour £3.
• £4 all day.
