Gainsborough Avenue, South Shields - Proposed parking restrictions

Overview

South Tyneside Council have been made aware of problems persisting in the Gainsborough Avenue area, South Shields particularly with vehicles parking infront of driveways at school pick up and drop off periods this leading to residents being unable to access/egress from driveways. It has also been brought to our attention that visibility within this location is particularly bad this mostly being due to vehicles parking within close proximity to junctions throughout the area.

We propose to introduce No Waiting at any Time restrictions in the form of Double Yellow Lines and timed restrictions during school times in the form of Single yellow lines and single blips accompanied by signage to prevent this.
