Formal Consultation - Downhill Lane, Boldon Colliery

Overview

Following an informal consultation with local residents regarding the proposal to install traffic calming measures on Downhill Lane, the Road Safety team are now looking to proceed with the formal consultation stage of the proposal.

The informal Consultation was undertaken between 20^th October until 10^th November 2025. A summary of the consultation results has been shown below.

• Against: 2

After considering the feedback, the Roads Safety team, in consultation with Local and Lead Ward Members, have made the decision to proceed to the formal consultation stage. The primary aims of the proposal are to reduce traffic speeds to compliant levels and create a safer environment for highway users.
