We asked

We proposed to remove a short section of parking restriction to allow parking outside the church.

You said

residents and regular users of the road felt that this would result in obstructions ti their driveways and result in congestion.

We did

We acknowleded those comments and felt that we should not proceed with the scheme at this time.

Results updated 17 Oct 2024

Several residents responded and raised objections on the grounds of road safety and restricted access. Therefore, we will not be proceeding with the proposal and the parking restrictions will stay as they are. No Waiting Mon-Fri 8am-5pm and No Loading / Unloading Mon-Fri 8am- 5pm

We thank you for your assistance with this matter

Overview

South Tyneside Council have received a request from All Saints Church for the parking restrictions outside the church to be removed to allow parking.

Currently vehicles are not allowed to wait or load / unload outside the church Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am – 5pm.  As cars regularly park there at other times and there have been no reported collisions at this location since 2014, we propose to remove 30m of the restrictions on the south side of Cleadon Lane directly outside the church. This should be enough space to accommodate up to x6 vehicles.
